That's really all I could think when I saw all the power trucks out in front of our complex. I saw the dream of doing laundry and packing clothes fly out the window... I was left in the dark!
I texted R and said I am beyond frustrated with this day. He wrote back that he had gotten a sense of that. haha Then I said I need smokes. He said he would get them. I said I would because I wanted them STAT. Soooo quitting smoking is going wonderfully! *sigh*
My plan last night was to get home, start the laundry, walk and feed the boys, start packing, figure out what attire to bring for formal night, clean up a bit for the petsitter, write a note to her and write her a check, grab dinner then go to bed when laundry was done, which I was hoping was by 9.
Well... R came home at about 6:30 and we debated what to do. Then we heard the heat! power! After it stayed on for 5 minutes I decided to start laundry. About 20 minutes later it crapped out again. *sigh* so my laundry was just hanging out in water. Bleh.
We decided to go out to eat. I was SOOO frustrated, but I had gotten some packing done in that prescious 20 minutes so I was ok with it. What could I even do about it anyways???
When we got home, power was restored. YAY! I redid the laundry, tried to pack a few more things, cleaned up the place a bit and relaxed with R to watch a smidge of American Idol.
At about 10:45 I finally got into bed. Bleh. I woke up this morning and totally debated calling in late and sleeping for a few hours because I wasn't feeling all that great, but I decided to skip my work out to snooze and just go to work on time since I will be missing the next 3 days...
I am hoping R can get home in time tonight - there are protests against the war in DC and the protesters are being asses and blocking the streets making travel very hard! They are planning on blocking a key bridge, so I just hope it doesn't effect him and his travels. Alas, frustration station would return!
I can not wait until this day is over. I can't wait for this trip to begin! Seriously...
Hang in there and soon it will be fun time.
