I went to a workshop on dogs last Saturday. The lecturer, a Veterinarian Animal Behaviorist that Kraymer has seen in the past, said she was going to call it "Ten things people do to mess up their dogs" but then renamed it so as not to turn people away. I found that amusing and I think she should have stuck with the original title since it's soooo true! Anyways, it was VERY interesting and I learned a bit, as I always do. I had forgotten the joy of a Kong toy for a dog. I have stuffed them and put peanut butter on the ends and frozen them to ensure the Kraymer would be busy for a bit, but I learned another step at this workshop. Last night, in anticipation for Thanksgiving and Tucker's bday (which R has no idea when it is so he says it's Thanksgiving, even though that is a different date every year - men! haha) Anywho, last night I found the long lost Kongs, put peanut butter on the smaller end, put a little kibble and lots of treats in them, then poured veggie broth in them, sealed the other end with peanut butter and froze them overnight.
While I was making R and I breakfast this AM (I got R his favorite - HASH BROWNS! Not home fries, which are my fave, but HASH BROWNS!) The man was excited. While the dogs were hovering around my every move, I remembered the Kongs in the freezer. I fed them a lighter than normal breakfast so they won't be overstuffed, so I got out the Kongs. The boys were excited. They have been busy for the past hour and a half and there is no end in sight. I loooooove the idea of putting broth in there to freeze because it ensures a longer time for them to be busy - aka not getting into trouble! :0) Love the babies. They are also getting a special dinner tonight that I got (free "Proportions" samples from Dogster!) which includes veggies, kibble, and gravy. They will be happy.
R and I are spending the day on the couch watching football and chillaxing. I am loving it! I do have to pack some more but that can wait for a bit. We will be feasting later on garlic mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, dinner rolls, R has some stuffing and I have a veggie "Celebration Roast". I think we'll be happy. I also bought an apple pie and some vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Happy Thanksgiving peeps! I miss my family, but I will be seeing my mom next week and we're going to R's family's house in December... then my family's house for Christmas. YAY holidays!!!
Rex is so tall that he begs from all of us but never steals food.
