Freaking Out!

I just went home for lunch and I found a lump in Kraymer heads throat. It's inside his body but I can feel it - it's pretty large (about the size of a grape on steroids I'd say) and I am NERVOUS! I am going to research what I can online, but we have a vet appt. Friday evening if I can't find anything else out... I am such a worry wart! This is going to badger me! It also didn't seem moveable and for some reason I am thinking that is worse than a mass that kinda moves when you try to move it.

I called my friend K who still works at the vet I used to for some insight. I think masses are pretty common in dogs but I want to know if there is anything further I can check on him...

My poor baby...

Ok I have been looking at websites which only further freak me out so I upped his appointment to tomorrow morning... I am afraid it's a thyroid tumor!!!

I had a bird dog that was always getting cysts. I hope that is all Kraymer has.

kraymer head will be fine, glad you got an appt for tomorrow, you won't have to worry that long. when I had my elkhoud, had to take her for a lump on her belly. he said elkhounds were prone to tumors. and she was fine after that.

First don't borrow trouble, till you know what you are dealing with. Secondly take the animal to the vet and find out for sure what you are dealing with, then review your options then go from there

Kristy, hang in there first of all. We had a rottie who had a tumor on her thyroid. Luckily the thyroid on a dog is not important and they could remove it. She lived a long time after that. You hang in there. I'm thinking of you and of Kraymer. Does he act like he's having problems swallowing or anything?
