Va Beach Marathon Weekend

Well, my husband ran a half marathon today. Can you believe it? I still can't. He is totally a changed man from when we first met it seems. Sometimes it scares me but... that's a topic for another day.

R has been training since the fall. He never really ran before, so when he signed up for this thing I was taken aback by it but totally supported it. His friends at work are all health nuts (think Solitaire!) and they convinced him to try it. And he did. And he ran the whole time. And I got a picture of him at the finish line and heard his name called as he finished. UNREAL! I am very proud of him. This morning I walked 4 miles to meet him at the finish line so I felt as though I got some exercise as well, but obviously not as much as him! haha

We stayed in an ocean front room on the beach so it was divine. I looooove ocean views! Saturday was a really fun day. We went to a haunted house that I went to as a teenager so it was very cool to see R jump a few times as well. He was a total non believer but I told him we should try it, so we did. And he jumped. Fun fun fun.

Overall a good weekend. Happy Sunday peeps!

I must admit, when you two got married, I figured you both would get lazy and fat. But NO! This news is really great! I'm very proud of the two of you, whether it's walking or running. Way to go!

That's funny, fat and lazy. I don't think either of us envisioned a half marathon in our future! I am proud of him!

I'm thinking about getting into good enough shape to repeat a hike me and my buddy did 40 years ago. It's still in the thinking stage, but it could happen. Guess I should get started..... Sounds like you had a fine time! WTG!

Do it! Why not? Life is short and if you enjoyed it the first time, might like it even more the second!

How wonderful and congratulations to you too. I couldn't walk 4 miles.

I wonder if I could have walked it...

Well done R - I couldn't run a bath! But I have bought walking for fitness books and the serious "speed walkers" can get up to speeds of 9mph!!

Glad you had a lovely weekend

Congrats to R! Happy you had fun this weekend. And you've changed too since being with R, in many good ways. You make a good team.
