This weekend R and I went to The Haunted Cottage. It was a REALLY fun evening. We decided to have dinner in Harper's Ferry WV since that's where the house was. What an interesting experience! Everything seemed closed, aside from two restaurants. The one we picked was called the Canal House Creamery & Cafe. They made one thing for dinner every night, so while the menu was limited, it was DELISH! This place was cool because it was TINY, and everyone seemed to know each other. Quite the neighborhood joint... We ended up talking to a couple of guys about the Haunted Cottage. They hadn't heard of it, but they said their houses in the area were haunted, and they learned to live with it without much concern. They had lots of stories for us! Very cool.
When we arrived at the cottage there were already a few groups there. The host was VERY informative and also pretty funny. We got to use EMF devices (they can tell where Electro Magnetic Fields are present) and EVP recorders (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) thingers they record things we can't hear at the time. VERY COOL! We started at 8pm and it ended at around 3am. We thought it was supposed to go til 5am so we got out pretty early. :0) After reviewing our EVP's nothing was found, but that didn't take away from our experience. Here are a few pics:
The second pic is a bike in the basement thats been known to move on it's own. The guy who took this pic was an awesome photog and made this pic as creepy as possible. :0)
After we left there, we weren't sure if we should go home since we had an overnight sitter at the house and we didn't want to freak her out by coming home at 4am. We decided to go to Charles Town and play some slots. Fun fun fun. I did well, I ended up $15 ahead! YAY! That rarely happens so I was psyched.
Anyways, another good weekend. Happy Monday peeps!
Oklahoma that has a bed and breakfast called The Stone Lion Inn. They
have a murder mystery weekend and I am dying to go. It is so haunted that
the owner refuses to live there.
