Sorry, This Post is Boring as Hell.

I just mentioned in a comment to Aaron's blog that I tend to save up thoughts with the intention of posting them all at once and then forgetting them when I get here, so I'm changing my ways. Looks like I'm a victim of the facebook/twitter mentality when reading and posting more than a few sentences at a time is too much like work. I don't like to think that my attention span has become so limited, but it is what it is.

From the look of the index page, it seems as if Eddie stopped by to clean things up. There are only two or three unfamiliar names--could be spammers who posted more than once or could be new blogger. I don't click on unfamiliar blogs so it will be up to the new folks to introduce themselves.

It's snowing here again. I know I shouldn't mention crappy weather unless I plan to entertain the suggestion of moving to Florida, but blogs are for complaining! I usually don't mind shoveling (too much) but I've been having a severe pain in the arch of my left foot so I prefer to sit whenever possible. But life goes on, and I know how to own pain--just not pleasant.

OK, so maybe I don't blog when I don't have anything interesting or positive to say. Donna's wound is doing pretty good, but that's about as positive as I can get. I really thought we'd be heading to the hospital yesterday for debridement in the OR, but apparently the dead tissue adhered to the sponge and came out when the sponge was removed. So we're here for the weekend. Maybe shopping before New Year's eve, but I tend to be asleep by midnight anyway so it really doesn't matter. New Year's eve just isn't what it used to be when Johnny Carson broadcasted live on NBC. Now they have singers and acts that I never heard of. Yup, I'm a geezer. But on the positive side, getting old beats the alternative.

Happy Saturday!

Ack! MyBloggers wouldn't let me post without a title.... so I thought of one...

I never watch the Grammy awards anymore because I've never heard of most of the acts.

I feel like I grew up between generations. Watching Johnny Carson, he'd have Janis one night and Bob Hope the next. Maybe it's that way for the kids too: the younger performers who we don't know and the classic rock bands. Oh well, there is plenty to do on the Internet without watching those people patting each other on the back.

I forgot about the ball drop in Times Square...might have to watch that. Happy New Year!! See you in 2013. And your post really wasn't boring at all.

2013. Slept right through it.

We'll stay up to watch the ball drop in Times Square because we love New York with an undying and obsessive passion. There's a hotel smack in the middle of the area that forms Times Square -- 7th Ave. going uptown and Broadway going downtown crisscross at that point. The hotel, the Renaissance, is at the northern corner. They have a restaurant with huge windows looking south across the Square. You see the cars coming at you as you sit and dine. Getting reservations for New Year's Eve at that hotel is almost impossible. Also pricey. Sigh.

I only went to 42nd Street once even tho I grew up in Queens and worked in Manhattan until I was 25. It was in the drinking days, so when midnight came, we were up around 59th street looking for a liquor store that was open. That basically sums up how much I care about New Years. But have a happy!

New Years Eve is just another night around here. Glad Donna is getting better. You're right, blogs are for complaining, so don't worry about us. Sorry about your foot. Hope it gets better.

We are 84 degrees and sunny today--and I have Allen's car for 2 weeks--now that's interesting!!!
Also go to the Harvard web site I just posted in my blog--took a couple of tests--seems I am NOT as liberal as I thought I was.
Eddie is back? I haven't seen his avatar on any blogs I have gone to--I was worried as we haven't seen or heard from him since November 6!!!

I haven't seen Eddie's avatar either, but look at the index page:

It's usually full of "first time" spammer posts, but it was cleaned up today. Thanks for the Florida comment. 84 is much too warm even if it's not humid. I'll stay here and shovel in the morning1

I'd make a point of staying up if there was a point to it, but I can't find one.

I miss my snowy Colorado. It was so warm and dry this fall that there was only one snowstorm before I left for Las Vegas. I'll be going back in early March, so hope to see some snow then.

That's the way I'd like to see Delhi.... one snow storm...
