So, You Miss the Snow?

My transplanted New Yawk buddies always enjoy these winter pics where the snow is hanging off everything that can hold even the slightest weight. For the past few years, we've been getting the heaviest snow in February and March, and this year is no exception. I thank the snow gods that we didn't get 30 inches like we did last year at this time, but this is, as some of you will say, pretty.

I didn't get finished shoveling until after dark, so these are all night shots. With any luck, some of this will be melting by morning, but I do believe that's wishful thinking. The high tomorrow is predicted to be 18 degrees. Yeah, that's cold for the end of February, and the low is supposed to be 4 above. That's cold for February too.

Donna has an appointment at 11 tomorrow morning, and hopefully we'll get to Pondarosa or the Chinese buffet for lunch. But without any further delay, from the warmth of your living room, here are the pics!

The poor truck is a mess now, balls and all. We took him out today and he's covered with crud. The high was 20, and it's 12 now (and dark already) so he'll stay dirty until at least tomorrow. January temps at the end of February are really annoying.

It's pretty, but deceptive. I lived in it for years. Shoveled my car out one too many times I guess.

It's pretty when somebody else shovels it for you.

I just love the snow on the big pine tree! I do miss snow, but it is a mess to clean up. are those truck balls on your truck?

I'm homesick now. I LOVE these kinds of pictures. I was raised in Alaska for 17 years and then moved to Hawaii. Every time I see beautiful pictures like these, I get homesick.

I hate snow, but I must admit it's always pretty to see in pictures!

It's snowing here, too, but we're not getting near what you are. The deck is covered, grass is poking through the dusting, and the streets are wet. We're getting more of a nuisance snow, since school won't be called off or delayed for this stuff. (Unless the roads freeze, of course--OH MIGHTY SNOW GODS, HEAR MY PRAYERS.) And, yes, it is very pretty--even hanging from the truck balls.Ya'll stay warm!
