Name That Attachment

Today was the annual rummage sale sponsored by the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society (pics on Facebook). We picked up some useful stuff including the meat grinder pictured here.

I remember my father using one of these when I was a kid. I think his was a bit larger and clamped to the table, but it was the same principle. \

The question:

Do you recognize the attachments?

If so, what is each one used for. I'd have to have to experiment with expensive meat.

Thanks

We used the one with all the holes to make sausage flavored the way we
like it.

That's my plan for the first test of the knife, which may not be sharp enough to do what it's supposed to. Buy cheap (fatty) pork and make my own lose breakfast sausage!

Okay--I just went down the list of new blogs and see what you mean about SPAM--Swiss watches, gym equipment, etc. Anything WE can do about it? I am so tempted to write comments like "NO SPAM HERE!"

For a long time Eddie had kept the new blog closed to prevent what you see. He had been deleting the spammers until he disappeared. The new spammers are easy to recognize. I don't know how many of them return to use their accounts a second time. I stopped clicking on names I don't recognize... unless like in the case of Zee, the name comments to someone I know. Really odd that Eddie is gone for so long.

You need the screw on nut that goes onto the end of the worm shaft. You put plate with the most holes onto the shaft, and then that piece with the four arms and then screw on the nut to keep them on there. I think that top plate is used in place of the plate with all the holes for a coarser grind.

I put it together the way Kevin said below you. The nut is the big thing on the end of the base. Screws together just the way I remember it from the store years ago.

the centre is the knife goes on first in front of worm the other 2 are plates ie different size off meat minced----fits on bench by tightening the clamp and works by suction---- if you can-- fastend by another g clamp as sometimes the suction wont work.
still have the one that fastens by clamp only , this model you have mostly wont work by suction alone then becomes loose on bench causing much swearing

It fits together like you say although the knife isn't sharp. The suction seems to work great, but that might change after a few minutes of grinding. Now, for some meat!

Meat grinder looks just like the one in our near-by grocery when I was a kid. I was allowed the run of the store and would watch the guy grind the meat. Also watched him kill chickens == one chose the hapless fowl from a wooden pen in front of the store. Barbaric as I think of it now.

I used to grind meat and make sausage many years ago. But it was a big commercial electric grinder. Fortunately the chickens came in big boxes ready for the meat case.

I think that you can get the information on Google?

It's beginning to look like I'll have to try.
