Excuse Me While I Whine ...

This won't be a big whine-fest as in bring the cheese, just a note to say that I maintained the Memorial Day tradition of the past two years. First it was the garage fire, last year the hospital, and this weekend an abscessed tooth. I called the dentist's service this morning and they put me in contact with her. Got some antibiotics, and the situation should improve.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< END WHINE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

In the last post I said I'd be back with some pictures, and here I am. These aren't as impressive as the first red tomato of the season, but it's sunny and warm (Ok, hot and humid) so I couldn't resist spending a few minutes with the camera after planting what we brought home this morning. The latest additions, which aren't in the pictures, are a basil for the windowsill, some other lemon-something herb (I'll grow anything with lemon flavor) and a pot of cucumber plants that are in the garden but too small to make a good pic.

This is a view of the new siding from the yard. I'm standing under a few pines, and I though it makes a good pic with the sun shining through.

Lettuce and mint behind the new railing on the front porch. The lettuce was free. It was a bit overgrown so the guy was giving it to the locals since nobody will pay for it. It looked great the day after I potted it and we've already eaten some. Not even bitter for being overgrown.

The garage from the front lawn. The lilacs leafed in the March spring and the April freeze killed the buds. So no flowers this year.

They speak for themselves. 86 and humid.

What a pretty place. Between the house and the town, it must be a great place to live.

I am growing mint and lemon mint in my topsy turvey planter. Your house and
yard look great. I ate that tomato yesterday for breakfast...tasted great!

Nothing like owning ones own house and having room to grow veggies, no matter how small. Enjoy!

Sorry about the tooth. For a few years all of our excitement happened in April, and we got to where we sort of held our breath for a month, so I know how you feel about Memorial Day. I love your house color, and nice to see the new garage back there. I feel like those people who tell a teenager: When I last saw you, you were *this* high! because we've heard about these projects in progress, and now here they are, grown up. Your yard is so pretty, and back behind the dogs that field makes it look like it goes on forever.

Good pictures--looks like a place--so when should I plan on coming up--to cool off!!! Don't whine about heat and humidity until you live in South Florida!!!

nice there. It is never too early to complain. But this will be short lived.Just a fluke in the weather.Today is nice and comfy with a slight breeze or shall I say breezy.Nice pictures and we grow a lot of basil as I get to make my pesto in the fall and stored them for the winter.I enjoyed doing this. The smell of basil is so enjoyable to smell.
Lemon based is good along with cilantro.Enjoy the balance of the day.
