My parents celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary last night. We invited close family and friends and since I have such a big family (lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins) it was about 75 people! My sister rented a small hall in town and had food catered from my parents favorite restaurant.
My sister and I went through my mom's wedding album and made copies of some of the pictures and displayed them along with her veil, original wedding guest book, and an anniversary candle my parents have that they light every year. We used pictures of my parents over the years as centerpieces for the banquet tables.
Their favorite parts were the signature frame which is now displayed with a picture of them from last night, and the photo book. My favorite was having them take a picture holding their wedding portrait. I guess the theme was just flash backs to their wedding day and all the guests and my parents enjoyed the night!

Later that night when we got home, my sister and her husband announced that they were expecting another baby. This will be baby #2. That's not the surprise. Apparently my sister knew about it for over 3 months and waited until they were certain the pregnancy would stick, but also of the babies sex. They're having a girl. I'm pretty psyched about it. Girls are cool. I think my nephew is awesome though, but having a little niece running around will be pretty cute. My sister is beside herself with joy - she and my Mom were crying about it. So funny. Anyway, after they calmed down, my Mom started asking about baby names and stuff like that.
I was shocked to learn that both my sister and brother-in-law like the name Grayson. I'm not sure how I feel about the name. That's not exactly the kind of name I thought my sister would pick for her daughter. In the past she liked more traditional names like Olivia and Gracie, but maybe they'll change their minds last minute like my parents did with my name.
But I'm very excited about being an uncle again...whatever the baby's name will be. :)
