Awaiting the Storm ... ..And the New Year.

Howdy, Blog Pals:
I know, I know....its been way too long since I've graced these hallowed pages.  Chalk it up to laziness and seasonal effective disorder.  If I didn't nap so much, I could pro'ly get more done.
Well, Christmas has come and gone.  The kids got tons of loot.  As of this writing, 4 days apres Christmas,  number of toys received per child: 2000, number of toys still working and/or with heads and clothing remaining attached: 1(total).  Next year, the precious little snowflakes get gift cards.
On the Shady Pines front, idiot neighbors have been away most of the holiday (yay!!) and I have had a well deserved respite.  The New Year will no doubt bring more challenges on that front but I am determined to not let it bother me so much.  If they see it isn't annoying me, mebee they'll give it a rest.  We live in hope.
Well, according to the Weather Service we are 'asposed to be getting a monster snow storm here come Thursday night.  I went on a run this afternoon for "survival rations" i.e. potato chips, Coca Cola, Oreos, Hostess fruit pies, Little Debbie snack cakes, ice cream, petite marshmallows for my cocoa, beef jerky, various dips, (All: "you ARE a various dip, bugg") and a six pack of Coor's ...for medicinal purposes of course.  I mean, you can never tell when rattlesnakes may crawl in here. So, I'm all set.  Remembered to put additional gas in the Redneckmobile so it wouldn't freeze up.  Also sprayed the doors with WD-40 to keep them from freezing shut.  They're calling for 8-12 inches and high winds. In other words; a blizzard. Brrr.
So, I guess that's about it.  Will touch base with all of you in the New Year.  Have a happy and prosperous one, everybody.

Good hearing from you again. Are you on a "gaining diet"? I ate all (I mean two bags) of the Halloween candy and am trying to loose those pounds. I also got lots and lots of candy for my birthday and need to loose those pounds also. Enjoy your potato chips and think of me. Nenah

God bless you my junk-food eating friend. I hope you do really get some good snow (now that you're ready) because that area needs it so badly. Only a couple of inches is expected at my place in Colorado, just 50 miles to the south of you, so just sounds like you're getting the big part of the storm.

tanks, Laura. we ended up with 6-7 inches (as measured on my car roof). the wind was a killer though. sheesh.

oh, absolutely. I have no intention of going anywhere until Monday when the eagle farts. might go out later and clean snow off Redneckmobile. I just need to get motivated.

Are you serious about the food you got? I hope the blizzard doesn't wallop your area and I am glad you had a wonderful Christmas!!! I got my nephews a fun little punching bag type thing and it was deflated after a day. They enjoyed it for the little while they had it though! So I feel your pain.
