There
are certain things that, when we are young and hear old people say, we
swear we won't say those things just as we swear we will never tell our
kids 'Because I said so' but you will 'kids'--just as you, too, will sit
around talking about your aches, doctors, operations and
pains--remember that 'everything old is new again'--as much as we like
to think we are unique, different, better, whatever we aren't--whatever
we do, say, has been said and done before--that is one thing, at least,
you will learn from getting old!
You will hear yourself saying these things to a younger generation!!!
In my day
They just don't make movies like they use to
"----use to cost---"
Anything to do with aches and pains (except to your doctor)
Been there, done that
When I was your age
Every thing old is new again (Did I say that????)
No one sings like (fill in name) today
And to think I bought a house for what your ------ cost!
We had the same problems
I was doing that in (name the year)
Okay, young ones--what don't you want to hear from old(er) folks????

"Doing nothing for others is the undoing of one's self.
We must be purposely kind and generous or we miss the
best part of life's existence. The heart that goes out of itself
gets large and full of joy. We do ourselves most good
by doing something for others."
Horace Mann, 1796-1859 American Educator, Writer and Politician
