When
you live in a resort town sometimes you forget to enjoy what brings so
many to the town. Fort Lauderdale is known as the Venice of America for
the many water ways and you will find many boats of all sizes in the
waters and many restaurants overlooking the the water and boats.
As
their web site states "Located in the intracoastal waterway in Fort
Lauderdale, Shooters has earned a world-wide reputation as the " Gold
Coast's Must See" destination restaurant for indoor / outdoor dockside
dining. Since its 1982 debut on Fort Lauderdale's Intracoastal Waterway,
Shooters Waterfront Cafe USA has become South Florida's landmark
waterfront restaurant to hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors
each year. Shooters is more than great casual waterfront dining - it's
an eating and drinking experience that personifies the Florida
lifestyle." And so it is and it had been awhile since I had been there
and I needed a pick me up so I suggested to Allen we go there for lunch.
What
made it a little bit better was the 2-4-1 special they were having!
Shooters is a wide, open, airy and bright place with large windows
looking over the inter-coastal.
An
'added attraction' are the birds that come in through the sliding doors
and make themselves at home and keep the carpets 'clean' of crumbs.
Allen
had the Shooter's Club with fries and Iced tea while I had the
California wrap, onion rings and coffee. We were both satisfied with the
taste and portions.
It
felt nice, and relaxing, playing tourists and enjoying a restaurant
that isn't on our usual list. In the above picture if you look straight
back you will see an open sliding door on the right--where the birds
come in--that leads out to the patio dining and swimming pool area.
Shooters is even more impressive in the evening so come on down and
we'll play tourist with you! And here's a message from Garfield via
