Surgery 9:30 AM Breakfast at 11:30 AM

I
don't know why they call it surgery when, in reality, it is an
outpatient procedure! We arrived at 8:30 AM, I was taken into the pre-op
room a little after 9, given a 15 minute prep and by 11:30 AM we were
sitting in Denny's having breakfast.

What's
surprising is that though, when looking in a mirror I can see my
eyeball but outside of that I don't see through the patch. I am still
waiting for my sexy black patch--oh well!

See Doc tomorrow to have patch taken off and discuss when to do left eye!

This
happened on Monday, August 12 and I go back to him on Monday August 19
to discuss the other eye. I am still wearing the patch but only when I
sleep.

Everything
was a snap except the routine of the eye drops--take 3 different eye
drops a day--one 3 times a day and the other two 4 times a day--you have
to leave 5-10 minutes between drops--I made a schedule and just check
it off when I take a drop.

I
have mentioned my claustrophobic problem so Tuesday I have to be at the
hospital at 8 AM (Is there an 8 AM?) which means I will be getting up
at 6 but I'll be going back to sleep when they put me under.

WHAT IS ALL THIS NONSENSE OF DOING EVERYTHING IN THE MORNING?!?!? HEY DOCTORS, DON'T YOU KNOW THERE ARE AFTERNOONS????

You're having surgery for a "claustrophobic problem"? Hmmm... must be a lobotomy...... Good luck with that!

No it isn't surgery--it is to knock me out so I can have an MRI and a MRA taken--otherwise I panic!

Arrgggh, Matey! Is that tape keeping your eyelids open? Now we know what goes on under those black patches.

Nope--that's just tape to keep the clear plastic patch in place so I won't scratch my eye--I want my black eye patch but he said "No!"
