I
did it again and it happened again. One of the comments left on my
previous blog regarding ordering a turkey sandwich in a pizza place is
not the thing to do and I agree so I went back to have a pizza! After
food shopping Arnie and I went to the California Pizza Kitchen and,
yes, ordered a pizza. We went for their 'original bbq chicken pizza
invented here in 1985'. Arnie wanted anchovies on it and I, having
nothing against anchovies but not thinking they went with bbq, said
alright. She said that it would be a dollar extra and I said okay.
After
the first slice I knew something was wrong and told Arnie that there
weren't any anchovies on the pizza. Long story short--they haven't had
anchovies in the restaurant for over a year. I won't get into the server
not being able to hit an 'anchovy' key, or, maybe, vocally telling the
cook and he not telling her they didn't have any but bottom line is we
didn't get any. When I got the check the first thing I looked for was to
see if we got charged for them but it wasn't there. Also, what wasn't
there was the 20% discount from the coupon I had given her so that had
to be fixed.
Between
the awful turkey sandwich last week and the problems with the check
this week I think I gave CPK enough business. I did get a call from
Mitchell, the General Manager of the store, with profuse apologies plus a
promise not to fire the server, who, I didn't have to be told, was new.

We
have a new resident, John, who moved in with a completely refurbished
Model A (1929-1931) Ford. The only reason I know that it is that is
because I had sent the above picture to Bill. He has a 1926 Cadillac, a
1923 Model T and a 1930 Packard that he has kept in running shape for
the 30+ years I have known him. He sent a picture of the Caddy but, for
some reason, I can't download it. In any case John was told by the
administrator he could not keep it on the property and he is now looking
for a local garage. By the way he said he bought it on eBay!!
