I Hate Technology!!!

2-3 years ago I bought a smart fire stick TV and after getting it set up I cut out my cable account, bought an indoor antenna, got 2 streaming services (which I became addicted to), Netflix and Prime, and was spending about $20-25 a month complete and all was going well! I turned on the TV Tuesday to watch the ABC news and find out who was killing who and who was insulting who--hey that's the first 15 minutes of news reports! NOTHING!!! I couldn't get ANY network shows---forget the killing and insults, I couldn't watch "The US and the Holocaust" which has been one of the most moving, disturbing documentaries in a long time not to mention "Big Brother" or the historic funeral of The Queen!

I called my neighbor John who has more technical knowledge to come over which he did the next day! Meanwhile I tried to call the TV company---they wanted o sell me a 'package'--the antenna company and couldn't get any answers. Though I don't know the lifetime of an indoor antenna I decided I would buy another one and see if that was the problem but it didn't help!!

When John came over we did it all--we changed the antenna, we unplugged and plugged in the TV set, re-scanned and re-scanned the channels, we reset the TV to the original default, I cursed the TV but no change!!

Earlier that day I went down to The Point and when I was there I dropped my camera not only breaking the camera but the lens. Okay, that would be easy enough to fix--just buy another and I went Internet hunting only to find out that it would now cost double what I paid when I first brought it! (Hey, I have to take my selfies and food shots!)

To add insult to injury I went to print out a paper that I needed for my health insurance--MY PRINTER DIDN'T WORK!!! I turned it off and on, I checked it was plugged in, checked it had ink--everything looked fine but it didn't work!

IF my friend Chuck who got me started on the Internet lived close by I could have called and asked him what I should do and he would have answered 'google it' and I could have answered, "I DID!" Of course, since he only lives about 400 miles he could have come down here but, something silly, like his partner Terry having surgery would be more important (kidding Terry but I would get him out of your hair as you recover and he wouldn't nag you, right?)

Okay, so what do I do now? An electrician? A computer pro? Buy a new TV and printer? (Well look at all the money I saved cutting cable the past couple of years!)

HELP!!!

They're making it too hard just to watch TV.

Even printers are now a b___. The HP Envy I have now I cannot recommend. It has no screen to tell you what is going on with it. I have had to look online several times to find out what the different flashing lights mean.

I spent an hour with the HP tech rep---she was excellent--fixed my printer remotely and haven't had a problem since--now if I could only say the same thing about Toshiba TV!

I'd be surprised if the antenna stations down there hadn't went digital, but that all that comes to mind. They made the switch years ago around here. If fb has a News Around Fort Lauderdale or something like that, you can ask if anyone else is having the problem. Maybe call a TV station or two. Good luck!

Thanks I got a message to the effect that AT&T doesn't carry CBS--but what that has to do with an antenna I don't know--I'LL see about facebook.
