Courtyard Cafe--ft. Lauderdale--review

With
GREAT service by Kimberly, pleasant surroundings, a crew that makes you
feel at home, attractive and/or interesting customers and decent food
at more than reasonable prices the Courtyard Cafe is more than just a
pleasant place to have something to eat..
At our request as what eat
Kimberly suggested the afternoon's special of a pot roast sandwich
($5.95), and with Allen wanting a salad, we decided to split the Cobb
($9.35) I had coffee ($1.95) and Allen ordered Iced Tea but the machine
was working so he had diet Pepsi ($2) instead.. I had blue cheese
dressing and Allen had honey mustard for the salad--there was a note
near the salad price on the check that said 'extra dressing' which was
50 cents more.
The pot roast sandwich came with a not too salty gravy
and a pile of mashed potatoes enough for 2. The salad was more than big
enough for the both of us to split.
Though Kimberly had a few
parties spread around the room she gave excellent service to all,
chatted with each customer, including us, calling a few by name, keeping
glasses and cups filled and just adding that touch to make the whole
meal feel special..
We had a 2-4-1 coupon which brought the check to
$13.30 plus tax and tip. As I write this I realize though we did leave
Kimberly a 20% tip on the original check I made a mistake thinking I was
leaving her $10--definitely will get back and give her that money she
deserves!

I put this comment on the wrong topic, although it does sort of relate after all.

Yes this is the place--it has been there for years--new owners recently took over--this now own this restaurant, have opened a Gelato Bar a couple of blocks down and will soon be opening Rumors, a liquor bar! They are doing okay

I don't like the idea of mashed potatoes with a sandwich, but aside from that, it sounds good. Still trying to decide if I'd order pot roast. Special or not, I think I'd go for something else. That fifty-cents for extra dressing really isn't that bad these days. The Delhi Diner charges by the egg and by the add-ons for breakfast. Haven't been back there. I think they should set a price for two or three eggs with bacon or sausage. Guess it's just the way I think about adding "extras".

The policy is first 4 ounces of dressing free and anything after that each 4 ounces is 50 cents--I remember way back when you auti=aromatically had to pay extra for blue cheese dressing!!!
I don't care for add on prices--that's the latest thing for "gourmet' burgers!

I looked at the menu, and it all looks so good, and the prices seem reasonable. You should eat there all the time! What's that place that has the special of the day? Is this it?
