(First two important dates this week: I gave up drinking January 21 , 1981, and haven't had a sip or taste---won't eat anything cooked in alcohol--of any form of booze since then
for 32 years--and on January 23 I will have lived in this apartment for
9 years--longest time I have lived in the same home!)
Anyone
who knows me knows that I worship at the feet of Mother Nature and try
to bring as much of her work into my place as I can. Wherever you look
in my apartment you will see plants, most with flowers, EXCEPT in my
bedroom! The reason for that is you can look as hard as you want but you
will NOT see a bit of light in that room.
I
sleep late in the morning--10 or 11 AM--(Hey, before you say anything, I
go to sleep 2-4 AM) and can sleep through hurricanes, tornadoes, any
kind of noise BUT a little bit of light and I am awake. When I moved
into my current apartment January 23, 2004, the first thing I did was
block my 3-4 windows (not sure as they have never been uncovered since
that first day!) with heavy black double thick curtain and shower
liners.
With
the exception of that room no place is safe from plants and/or flowers
where I live. In the picture above, the bottom section, the flower pot
is on the bathroom window sill and the Cuban Butterfly along with the
minature sun flower and mushrooms are flowering and it is January
20---winter!! So are the flowers in the top picture which are in the
east window in the living room--Mother Nature is amazing and she is
always surprising me!
