Birds: Hawks/eagle; Doves & Mother Nature

Above
are some of the birds that I had, and that I loved, until, under
doctor's orders, I had to get rid of all my birds. I really miss them,
looking in the apartment when I open the door to make sure they won't
fly out, among other things. Somehow Mother Nature knows when to fill in
the empty moments whether you are aware of them or not.

The
other day I spent 10 minutes watching this eagle/hawk flying around the
house across the canal until I realized that it was a 'kite'--did I
feel foolish? You are darn right I did!

Okay
that bird may not have been real but these two are. They stop by every
day, spend time on the tree and then fly up to the railing right outside
my apartment door. I love looking at them.

inwardly attentive."

I used to have 4 budgies, and I still have 2 OLD cockatiels, so I know both why you would miss them and why you had get rid of them. My cockatiels are 25 years old and have been failing for years... I'll miss them but won't miss the dust they make.

I'm looking into ringnecks and conures--they supposedly don't have that 'down' or shed like tiels.

Do birds pose some kind of special health risk? I did not know.

Their 'down' can cause trouble for the lungs--it is like a fine powder.

oh, so sorry to hear you had to part with your feathered friends, Marty. Animals do leave a hole in your life and in your heart when they aren't there anymore.

I'm sorry about your birds, they can be such good friends, and like you say, nature sent you those outside visitors to cheer you up.
