I Don't Believe I Did it But I Did and Lady Gaga

Most
people who know me know that I HATE housework! If I wore underwear (too
much info?) or socks with my flip-flops, I would put them in the
cleaners along with the rest of my clothes. Though I live on Social
Security I do have one of the residents of Gateway come and clean my
apartment but she has been ill and won't be able to do it anymore. I've
been dragging my feet on getting another cleaner so the place has been
getting a bit 'dusty'. I decided to clean the inside and outside of the
refrigerator.

On
Friday I had received the samples of shampoo and conditioner that I was
testing for viewpoints.com After finishing cleaning the fridge I
decided to do the shampoo thing in the kitchen. Can you guess the rest?
No? Okay, as you can see, along with the 409 I used to clean the fridge I
had a spray bottle with water to wet, and then rinse, my hair.

The
water bottle was on the left of the fridge and the 409 on the right. I
got my hair wet, massaged the shampoo into my head, let it stay for a
minute, reached for the water bottle and started to pour it over my
head. Okay, have  you guessed it by now? Right! I had poured the 409
over my head! Just picture me trying to get it out of my eyes, off my
head, cursing and promising to never to do housework again--ever!

I watched an HBO special of Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour--first time I have really seen her--she is very
artistic--writes most of her own music--presents a real SHOW--wild
costumes--hot guys--all  the boys in the band and the male dancers bare
chested--some pretty lewd moves--sky high heeled shoes-- guys
kissing--spectacular scenery--on and on--but can she sing? Some times
she has a jazz vibe--sometimes she sings like other divas but I would
like to hear her sing a song without gimmicks, without 40 costume
changes, without 2 guys kissing, etc. Just sing a song.
She does have
a tremendous amount of energy and is certainly for equal rights for all
and against bullying and you can't deny her theatricality--and I
understand she made $116 mil, or so, just last year!
She does work
hard for her money. On the ending credits she finally just sang without
10 feet high shoes, a wild costume and hunky, almost vulgar guys dancing
with her and except for a lot of screeching her voice sounded good but I
don't know if she could 'sell' a song without all the frills.

Just watched her the last two nights on "American Idol" and she made absolutely no impression on me without all her 'glitz'.

A
lot has happened the past two days so it looks like my decision not to
post a blog everyday may be 'easier' than I thought but more about that
on Monday.

I like Lady Gaga, and I do think she can sing. I've seen her on a few awards shows and Oprah singing without glitz.

I haven't made my mind up but I don't think I would go out of my way to see/hear her.

I saw her on American Idol last night and was amazed she did not fall off the piano stool in those ridiculous high heels. Give her a 10 for flexibility but a big fat 0 for singing and presentation. I would not go to one of her concerts if someone gave me free tickets. I would rather stay home and read a good book.

I agree---I did watch the concert just to see what she was all about and I think she deserves making all that money just for wearing those shoes--she brought nothing to AI

R.W. Emerson was a skeptic (Unitarian). My only comment on Lady(?) Gaga is that she (supposedly) is a trained (and gifted) musician. Who can tell?

Can't teach you old guys anything--you probably still listen to music from the 50s and 60s!
I think skepticism comes with aging--getting smart!

Gaga in Spanish means stupid, I saw her on American Idol last night and I thought...the names sure fits...or am I getting old???
comment by aussiegirl on May 12, 2011 6:44 PM ()
She made over $116 mil so is she stupid or the public? I know
better than to say you are getting old!
