Trying New Things Together

I remember reading somewhere (or maybe I heard it) that trying new things with your partner is a bonding experience. This works if it's a new experience for just one of you and it's an even larger bond if it's something that neither of you have ever done before.

This weekend I experienced two firsts the G. The first is probably the biggest one. G is a big fan of all animals and although I consider myself an animal lover, this has always excluded most rodents for me. G not only loves rodents, but he actually used to breed rats and have them for pets (I know I just about gagged myself). So even though I told him about my irrational fear of mice that prompted me to move out of my house for a week when I was a teenager and saw a mouse in my room, he was still determined to have me see how lovable they were (grin).

Well, I'm proud to say that I pet some baby rats and got to see many, huge ones! I'm not ready to be a rat owner (and breeding is out of the question) but I will say that they are mostly cute and definitely not mean. The hairless adult one was kinda scary looking but the lil bald babies were sorta cute!

Side note:
While riding through town this weekend together, we were jamming out to some old school rap music from the 80's. It was super funny! We really are two perfectly matched goobers!

The other new experience I had this weekend was a new food that G made me. It was a new, strange combination of foods for me but I what so super cute of him to share one of his special family salads with me. (lettuce, pineapple, cottage cheese, mandarin oranges and a bit of may)

So now it's time for me to show G some new experiences and maybe make him wiggle a little (lol). Any ideas?? Oh I'm sure I'll think of something (I know you're reading this honey)

I'm sure you figured out something by now, but my mind is busying itself with coming up with ideas. Unfortunately, some of the ideas are rather rated X.

Draw the line at gerbels..they are mean fuzzy critters who like to take chunks of skin outta your fingers.. Now for a truly unique bonding experience...chocolate, silk scarves and mood lighting...that will make him squirm a lot..

You are so right about those types of things being great bonding experiences. The salad sounds unique, but also yummy.
