Soldier Son Update!

First a recap for those not familiar. My son joined the army right out of high school in 2004. He was stationed in Texas. In October of 2006 he was deployed to Iraq for his 15 month tour of duty. He saw things over there I believe that changed him. He came home this past February and it was great to see him. When he went back to Texas we had a little falling out and were not speaking to each other much. He got out of the army in june and decided to stay in texas. We have since patched things up and I talked to him the other night. He also put his new girlfriend on the phone. When I was done talking to her, he got back on. He said that she is half mexican. I said, so? I really don't care about that kind of stuff. Who says your soul mate has to be the same race as you? Anyway the big news! They are on their way back here! They are leaving today, driving all the way. They will be staying in Delaware for a few months. He is going to go to a school in South Carolina for underwater welding.
I don't know how long it will take them to drive here, at least 3 days I would say. They are also bringing with them their new puppy. A chow/shepherd mix he named Rambo. lol Just like my Rambo who is a chow/shepherd mix! So I am a happy mama, knowing my son will be here soon and we can continue to work things out in person. I am also excited to meet his new girlfriend! If she is willing to move here for him it must be serious!
Today I will be practicing my tae kwan do form, cleaning and going to visit the inlaws. I can't wait for class tonight as hubby will be taking it! lol

Hope all goes well with son and new gf. Live if too short to be mad at anyone, especially a son. I have one son, who is so mad at everyone that we haven't seen him in over five years. I have mourned just as if he was dead. So don't let that happen to you. Love, Nena

A 15 month tour of duty! Yikes... that's unreal. And I thought my sister's hubby was spending an excessively long time at 9 months. That's so exciting that you'll get to see your son, and his new gf and dog soon. I hope you have a great visit!
