I am still here! I have exciting news, our trip to Michigan is back on. When last I wrote about it, I told you how the inlaws were going to have to go in early June rather than the end of July. Well I was over visiting with them yesterday and they have decided to go in July! They have another trip they are going on at the end of May and they said having to go to Michigan right after that would be too much. I was so excited! I might ask daughter if we can borrow her laptop for the trip so Dakota can watch movies on that long drive. Plus we can play all those games I did as a kid when we would go on road trips, the license plate game, finding words on billboards in alphabetical order. I might buy myself a new digital camera. My zoom has been acting up on this one and I would like one with more options on it.
Daughter stopped by to pick up her printed tax forms for her state return. We had already filed her federal. I explained the state isn't due until the end of the month and she is only getting back $2 from them. lol
You can go to the irs website (irs.gov) and it will tell you when to expect your rebate that george is giving most of us. If you get your refund direct deposited you will receive the rebate earlier than others. Or maybe its if you file electronically and get direct deposit. Anyway, you can check it out there.
I will be hanging out with Father-in-law today. We are borrowing my mom's tiller to do both of our gardens. FIL has a trailer so we can just load it in that and bring it to our houses. He will do his first as he wants a small plot. Hubby will probably do mine this weekend. He will freak out when I tell him how big I want it! But maybe I can set up a stand by the road to sell some of my fresh veggies. I probably need a permit for that too! lol
Oh yeah, one other bit of news. A guy hubby works with gave him a push mower. Its a self propelled monster of a push mower. Hubby tried it out last night and he was zipping around the yard! He told me I could probably use it too. I said that was so nice of him and as soon as he started doing housework I would start doing the yard. LOL He loves to pick on me. He knows I can't cut grass because of my allergies. He has offered to buy me a breathing mask to make it easier. I have offered to buy him knee pads for scrubbing the kitchen floor. So if we can get buy with this mower we will hold off on buying a riding mower and just bank both of our refunds for our trip to Michigan. FIL is going to rent a van for the trip and we will split the cost of that and the gas.
OK, I think this has gotten really long but I was so excited that our trip is back on!
