Irene Update

Here in Delaware we are getting the outer bands of rain, started early this morning. Just a light breeze blowing and the rain is not heavy. My stomach is in knots at this point. I am a worrier in normal times. I am just glad for hubby who is level headed and good in emergencies. I am tempted to make a run to the store, alway afraid we won't have enough to last if we lose power. I will leave that up to hubby to decide.

I will update as long as we have power. I should really stop watching the news because they just freak me out more. Irene is a strong category one at this point but it is a huge freaking storm!

Time to make phone calls to check in with family!

All is fine here. I have a new post up. I actually slept good last night. I think I was just exhausted from all the worrying and preparations.

I'm watching the coverage and paying attention to what's happening where you are. I think I'd rather be in a big blizzard than a hurricane.

I told that to someone, that I would rather have a blizzard! They thought I was crazy.

Stay safe lady --- I am thinking about you! I hope it's just heavy rain and some winds... and thank goodness it's only a category 1 though right? And yes, the news WILL freak you out.

I am actually quite calm now, we have done everything we can to prepare. I feel pretty safe here and we are ready for when the power goes out.

cook all food in freezer--get things off window sills--unplug ALL electrical items--put 1 or 2 bottles of water in freezer--stay away from windows--you'll all be safe!

I was going to cook up all the freezer stuff. thanks for the good tips! kota asked if his xbox (game system) would work if we lost power.

I said nope but you got lots of books to read! I think I am done freaking out, we are prepared and now its just time to wait it out.

well we did have to make a run to walmart. But it couldn't be helped, didn't have the money until this morning. we are fully stocked now, had to get toilet paper!

now it's time to just sit back and relax.
