Weaving a Tapestry of Calm

I have been fascinated all day with a book called the
calm brain by Gayatri Devi, M. D.

She is a neurologist and here is an excerpt from her book
that condenses her thoughts in a nutshell

1. Form long lasting close ties with other human beings and
laugh with them.

2. Find a partner who offers both companionship and romance.

3. Have sex often.

4. Forgive and forget.

5. Pay attention to your biorhythms. Eat when you are
hungry and sleep when you are tired.

6. Never ever compromise on sleep.

7. Do not use drugs to go to sleep and alarms to wake up.

8. Cut down on multitasking.

9. Schedule some downtime every day.

10.Don't watch tv in the bedroom.

11.Socialize and don't take your cell phone.

12. Do one slow thing a day. Walk, pet a dog, smile at a
stranger.

l3. Hug people you care about as often as you can.

l4. Make pets a habit you can't do without.

l5. Welcome each morning calmly.

This book shows why the brain craves calm and what
happens to your body when it is ignored. It gives simple,
practical solutions that will bring tranquility and
compusure. It was a great read and I liked it at lot.

It is good advice. She treats her patients to a homelike atmosphere in her
office. I liked the book a lot.

I'm a sucker for books like this. If I can stay focused (not so easy these days), I'll get it.

This was exceptionally sensible and well written. She even takes two dogs
to her office with her to soothe people because she knows that going to
a neuroligist is scary.
