A Wonderful Experince

Ted was able to take me to the Oklahoma City Art Museum
today. I thought I would never forget how to spell the
glass artist name that was featured...it was Dale Chiuly or something very close to that. It was spectacular. The
thing I liked the best was three logs with holes drilled in
them and 6 or 8 feet or even higher lavender glass candles
inserted in them. The exhibit took us to another place.

The thing that gave me the best high was a very early
Renoir of a girl in a field. The colors were so exuberant
that I was immediately drawn to it. There was another
of his wife's cousin and the flesh tones were unbelievable.

Downtown Oklahoma City is an absolute nightmare. So
much work is being done and it appears to be at a snails
pace. So many streets are closed at present. I used to
work downtown but it was tame at that time.

Afterward we had to go and have Mexican food with beer
and it was great. All in all, a scrumptious way to spend
half a day.

Of course, like elkhound I had to look up the website to see his glass. Wow! True sculptures with great colors.

I am glad you looked at it. He does amazing things with glass.

Geez... everybody on mybloggers went to eat and I went to the dentist. What's with that? Anyway... you didn't mention the heat. I know it's in the mid-west although it's staying south of upstate NY.

The heat is triple digit. I usually plan my day so that my work outside is
all done in the morning, very early. After being shut in so long, it was such
a pleasure to Ted to get out.

Such good news that the two of you got out and about. I assume he did the driving.

Yes, Ted won't yield the wheel...nor do I want him too. I stay off the
expressways and away from down town. Around here it easy and I am used
to it.

The favorite place we go has wonderful food, beer and Margueritas.

Sounds like a great outing. Oklahoma City seems to be imitating New York, about which the locals say, "It'll be a great city if they ever finish it."

It makes driving a nightmare but all the construction is good for us in the
longrun. Parking is a severe problem.
