Ted's New Experience

I was waiting on Henry to come and mow the lawn so I didn't
go to the V.A. with Ted. He fell and had to use a wheel
chair but guess what? I don't know if it was my call to
patient care or my e mail to Senator Coburn but they treated
him very well. His prescription for nerotin was increased,
he had a full thirty minutes with his doctor and was prescribed a back brace that helps immensely and his doctor
called him back to see how he was doing and give him the lab
reports. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. The nurse
practicianer who thought she was God did not show her face.

It made me realize that I have to be with him because he is
so unsteady on his feet. We still will get him on medicare
and my insurance after October l5th. If the tea party will
still let him have it.

I saw an advertisement for thunder shirts for dogs and immediately gave it to Phyllis. Her dog, Sally, chews up
the paneling and is already on Paxil. Ted wants one for
Rex because it reduces separation anxiety.

I am having my first experience with acrylic paint and I
love it because it is not as messy as oil. We are doing a
picture together and it is fun.

It looks as though Sara will have to have a c section. Her
mother in law is on duty for a week and Linda for 3 days.
I can help out after Linda goes home. Linda is besotted
with having a new grandchild.

I missed out on walking last night because Phyllis stayed
for a low calorie meal. They are mostly pasta and the
swedish meatballs are the best. It was worth it because
she is such good company. The lasagna is pretty good but
doesn't have a drop of meat in it. Beware the Sesame chicken however. The chicken is rubbery.

One has to be assertive to get good care, not rude, but really forthright. So glad Ted had a better experience this time. I read he is having surgery. Is it soon? And when is Sara's baby due? Sending warm good wishes!

I have seen the ad for Thunder Shirts and thought it was BS; another way to separate people from their money. Let me know if it really works. I think Nerontin is what they prescribed for my husband's shingles and he quit taking it because he said it made him feel weird. Screwed with his brain.

The dr. told Ted that it didn't have much effect before two months but his brain is fine, the body is shot and I got him enrolled in medicare and a
supplement yesterday. We are going to O. U. medical center for the surgery.
They have the best.

What a relief that the doctor finally woke up and made a difference.

He wouldn't have if I had not pushed and shoved. However, Senator Coburn
is a medical Dr., and even if I do not like his programs, he is the one
to go to if you have medical problems with the V. A.

It's so nice when you get a doctor who cares. I haven't had one since 1981.

My doctor and I have grown old together and he is very warm and kind.

Glad to hear that Ted got a better reception at the VA.
I for one will not see a nurse prat.want a medical Dr or not.
that is what paying him for.
Glad you had some nice time there and take care.
Good luck to Ted.

I think physicians assistants and nurse practitcioners can be useful for
some things. Ted needs all the luck he can get. He is getting out and
sometimes can only get as far as half a block but he is using the cardio-
glide to get some strength in his legs.

I've heard of these capes for dogs that cut the static electricity so they don't get so nervous prior to and during storms. Sound like a good idea -- It would be interesting to hear if they work.

I will let you know how it works. I just hope I can get one for Rex. He
is so huge.

I don't what a thunder shirt is. Don't have a dog anyway. Just three kitties who take up a lot of time. Don't know how Jon Dude gets anything done with his lot. Hope Ted improves.

A belated Happy Birthday to you and I hope you are feeling much better. Pets
do take up a lot of time, money and effort but they are so worth it. Nothing
relaxes me more than kitty purring.
