Never on Sunday

Never start a plumbing repair on Sunday. It is now Monday
evening and we have no prospect of water until tomorrow. Ted attempted a toilet repair and it is hopelessly screwed up. After we mopped up gallons of water that took every
towel in the linen closet, all the plumbers have gone home
and there is no prospect of getting one until tomorrow. we
both regret getting into it. The plants are starving for
water. I have emergency water for Rex and coffee. However, I am in need of a shower and a shampoo.

This has been an absurdly busy day. Massive grocery shopping took most of the morning. Rex will not allow
anyone but me to see him eat. He has a burning need
for privacy so until I moved his food away from Ted's
view, he moped about and hung around my heels and
begged.

Wouldn't you know that my one social event of the
month has to be cancelled because of the plumbing?
I can't go out to lunch in my present grungy state.

Well, as Scarlet said, "Tomorrow is another day."

Ouch! That has to be so inconvenient! The good news in all of this is that Ted feels well enough to attempt a plumbing repair!

coincidence --- Monday morning had a 9am appointment at the docs for cholesterol test , out the front was water all over the front and street , saw that water was gushing from tap but couldn't do any thing and I did not want to get wet , on the ground I found a dollar in coins , this morning I had to go again and the receptionist told me someone had stolen the tap , wonder if the dollar was for payment

How funny. When you need a plumbing part you are desperate.

Wow! Didn't know it was possible to screw up the water supply to an entire house by working on one toiled. Not that this will make you feel any better, but the most I lose is half the house when something like that happens. Of course I have a full tank of water on the camper, so I'm good for days as long as it doesn't happen in the winter.... No, I don't think this is helping..... later..... I would make one suggestion about a shower tho. If you spend much time around hospitals as I have sitting with clients you get to know where things are. In some hospitals there is an a public bathroom that has a shower. I'd wear sandals, but I'd do anything for a shower when I'm desperate.

My hair is mybloggers and I feel a lot less than clean. Thanks for the suggestion but the plumber is due first thing this morning. Ted realizes that the
Alzhiemer's is worse and he can't do what used to be child's play. It is so
sad to be aware of this. He is also more irritable and has lost his sense of
humor to a large degree and has poor impulse control. He used to be
such fun. Glad I have the memories.

Oh, goodness! This brings back not-so-fond memories of us trying to repair a toilet. Mr. YouKnow went to two different towns looking for the parts, and finally I looked online. Found out this was a specially-designed toilet, that gasket was prone to failure, and a replacement could only be ordered online. We were in a rush because guests were due. He ended up buying a whole new toilet and that other one, which was probably only used five times (it was in the less-used rental cabin), is now in the shed waiting to be disposed of (maybe donated, but who'd want such a faulty item?) Hugs and best wishes for a quick resolution once you can get a plumber to show up.
