Our country is sick. The hate, greed, violence, anger,
intolerance and paranoia just simmers and breeds more of
the same.

I wish we had some kind of instant fix for this. Unfortunately, there is no spirit of unity or compromise
in our government or in our lives. I have grandchildren
and great grandchildren who will never know what it is to
live in a kinder, gentler time.

I know it wasn't always good. I lived through a depression, World War II, Korea and then Viet Nam. I
understand the depression and dejection of living in
poverty first hand. How did we lose our empathy for those
who suffer and are down trodden, sick, mutilated from a
war based on lies, and homeless.

I live in fear of another Hitler popping up. The climate
is right for it. Donald Trump has no solutions but
is stirring up Mega anger with his talk of a wall and
banning refugees.

Evidently we did not learn from the past and are doomed
to repeat it.
