I Can Smell Smoke

We just returned from the Sheriff's substation where we
took our donations of bedding, clothes, food and money.
I just can't believe the churches are not helping much, but
our people are coming together. There are large donations
at the substation including furniture.

The fire in Luther is north and east of us and was deliberately set. I don't see how anyone could be that
lowdown and mean. The one around Norman was not arson
but it destroyed a lot of rural trailer homes that were
very probably not insured.

I am sure jondude was right about eventual food shortages
and high prices. Drought does terrible things. We are
grateful to be cool even though we can smell the smoke.

I was reading that DC area farmers are actually profiting from the rest of America's droughts.

I can believe it. Such misery to have no water and feed for your cows.

I hope they get the guy who did it. I think arsonists deserve the max.

I do too. I have the awful feeling it was a teen ager wanting to stir up
some excitement. I hope whoever it is gets the maximum penalty.

Every time I think we have it bad in Indiana, I'm aware it's worse in OK. Then, there's the weather!

We all do the best we can but there are always things beyond our control,
with the exception of the slimy ten percent, who are full of malice and
anger.

I just looked at your weather forecast for tomorrow. 90 is going to feel like 70 degrees after the very hot days you have been having.

I just got up and haven't been outside but it didn't feel cool when I put
Rex out. He didn't want to linger.

I saw a blurb on the feed on fb. Many buildings destroyed. It takes a sick bastard to do that on purpose.

No one of us who are sane can fathom the mind of someone who is hell
bent on destruction. You would have to be totally without compassion to
do a thing like this. There are so many cedar trees in the areas where the
fires are and they act like an accelerant.

Heard about the fires on the news. how very sad. Stay safe.

We are pretty safe. It is so hard for those who have no insurance and no
way to make a life for themselves after the fire. I was so pleased to see
the number of donations and more will be coming in.
