Last night was filled with one tornado after another. The
city has an automated phone call to warn people and I assume
they get the numbers to call from the water bills. We got
a warning phone call. Then long before the tornado got
here, they kept blowing the warning siren and continued to
blow it after the storm was gone.
I got in the closet with the essentials that I had packed
up with blankets, a change of clothing, a motorcycle helmet
and a utility bill and insurance
papers. Rex and Ted chose not to join me. Ted trusts his
Native American weather instincts to guide him far more
than the weather people. His trust was vindicated. The
meterologists were in a state of hysteria and caused some
needless anxiety. They stated that there was a fearsome
tornado in Chickasha. I have a sister and a cousin living
there and there was only a very slight bit of property
damage and some of the phone service was knocked out. My
cousin and my sister were both fine. I guess the people
who do the weather look forward to the excitement and I
agree that over warning is better than none at all.
I am looking forward to a sunny, non-threatening normal
Wed. I am sure Jeremy and Jenny are ok since they only
live a mile away.
