Sad, Surprised and Grieved

My friend, Cathy, who was only 50 years old dropped dead
yesterday. She was a vibrant, alive optimistic woman who
belonged to my antique group. There are just ten of us in
the group. Cathy was caring for her ailing mother. No one
dreamed that she had a heart problem.

Her death took her family and friends totally by surprise.
At my age, I am all too used to losing friends. It saddens
me more to lose someone who has had such a short life span.

We will all mourn her and think fondly of her. I suppose
we will try to gather for her funeral when the M. E. releases
her body. Unfortunately, I do not think there is an after
life but Happy Trails to you, Kathy, wherever your spirit
may be. I am richer for having had you in my life.

Always saddens you when a friend dies at any age, more so at that age when we have a lot more years on our clocks.
remember her as a friend and the times you knew her at her best

To people our age, fifty sounds so young!

If I die at 50 my daughter will only be 11 or 12.
I am sooooo sorry for your loss. It's amazing how young 50 is the older I get.

Fifty is young. I have had almost 34 more years than that and it has been
the happiest and most content of my life.

So sorry to hear about your friend.

It is so hard to see some one so alive and the next week hear that they
have died.

Not getting a chance to say goodbye is so hard. Sending you hugs.

We are all in a state of shock. I am just glad that she was a happy person.

How tragic, and particularly for one so young. As you know, I lost my good friend, Penny, in October. I am still in shock because she was such a fixture in my life. But she was 82, and at least had those extra 30 years. My condolences to you.

We have our memories. It seems that we can plan all we want but when
tragedy strikes we feel helpless and overwhelmed.

Jeri, my condolences to you..it's so hard to lose someone so unexpectedly like this. No matter how much we think we have our future planned out, a week, month, year in the end we are not the masters of our destiny..that I think is in the hands of a higher power. We can only take what we are given and live each moment to it's fullest.

That is so true. I like to remember absent friends. It is a way of not
letting them leave us entirely.

So very sorry, Jeri — sending my care and sympathy....
