Rex and His Troubles

Yesterday was warm enough to work comfortably in the back
yard and I got the doggy excavations filled in and a lot of
leaves bagged. There was something about being out of doors
that made me feel much less gloomy.

The promise of spring always lifts my spirits. I think that
I probably lost my hydrangeas but everything else made it
just fine. I mulched heavily and the rosemary never froze
and neither did the Dusty Miller. The Pampas Grass stayed
mostly green too. I am looking forward now to getting new
plants, and rearranging the living room. My neighbor gave
me a lot of Cockscomb seeds and I am trying to find a sunny
place for them. They are beautiful dried.

I did a lot of cooking for Bobby, at his request and was glad
to be able to do something that made the nausea from chemo
less severe. He can only have very bland, high carb foods.

I know the love you infuse into Bobby's food helps more than you can imagine.
((((Hugs)))) for you and tummy rubs for Rex!

It certainly helps to be able to do something concrete like preparting
food that he can eat. He says the chemo makes him feel like he has the
flu.

You're doing all you can and I'm sure Bobby appreciates it. When you called this Rex and his Troubles, I thought maybe the kid wasn't feeling well either, but you were talking about the holes he dug?

Rex loves to sleep in deep holes with just his head resting on solid earth.
Poor guy can't do it with all his holes filled up and digging forbidden..

HOW MANY WEEKS THERE FOR BOBBY?
comment by fredo on Feb 26, 2012 9:56 AM ()
Bobby has 6 months of chemo. Right now we don't know if he will stop
for five weeks and have his colon reconnected.

Spring and longer, sunnier days have that effect on people! I'd be out splitting wood now I there wasn't a Geezer-camp meeting in two hours. It not warm here yet by any means, but (hopefully) we won't have 100 degree temps like ya'll did last summer. So I'll take the trade.
