After only a few drops of rain last week, last night a gentle,
soaking rain began to fall. I had been watering every night
and kept most plants alive but I had lost several hydrangeas.
I planted three small crepe myrtles but the children stepped
on the best one and ruined it.
Sometime ago, I may have mentioned that I was feeling so
stressed by Ted's illness and having to do everything but
the lawn that my doctor put me on an anti-depressant. It
made me horribly ill and after two weeks I just threw the
pills away. It evidently triggered something in my brain
and now I feel so well and have so much energy that I am
no longer feeling overpowered and am able to do a lot more
than usual and handle stress so much more effectively. The
brain is so complex, I don't expect to ever know what happened.
I finished Tennessee William's Memoirs yesterday. I marveled
at his life. I was surprised to know that he had regarded
a particular play as his best work. I loved Sweet Bird of
Youth as a movie with Geraldine Paige and Paul Newman and
was further surprised to know that they had starred in it
while it was on Broadway as well. I recently watched it
all over again. My favorite was Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
New research has revealed that insulin in the nose is now
a new method of treating Alzheimer's and that it is proving
to be very effective.
Now that I have meandered all over the place, I will go
and have another cup of coffee.
