Around the Neighborhood

My nosy neighbor has achieved Yard of the Month and her
flower garden is very pretty and a delight to see. She and
her husband do landscaping and lawn mowing professionally.
Fortunately, I have offended her deeply and she no longer
comes to see me daily.

I am walking every day but it will have to be in the mornings now as it has gotten pretty hot. I won't complain
because I hate cold weather. My arthritis is much easier
to bear when it is hot and dry.

Henry came to mow my yard yesterday and some one had tried
to break into his house and nearly killed his dog. The dog
had to have forty stitches but they didn't get in. He had
pictures of his new little colt. He is a beauty with a
white blaze.

We have an extremely pet friendly neighborhood and one of
my favorites is the Watch Cat. So named because she watches
for pedestrians to beguile with her charming cat ways. I
love to encounter her because she runs to greet me and rolls
and purrs and gives cat kisses. At least four people feed
her and she takes turns at their houses. I can't have a
cat because Adrienne is allergic and she satisfies my need
for a kitty to cuddle.

We celebrated Mother's Day and Bobby's getting his Master's
degree all on Sunday with a cookout at his house.

Poor dog! Geez. Good thing the dog was there though I suppose??? This made me laugh "Fortunately, I have offended her deeply and she no longer
comes to see me daily."

YOU alienated someone? I can't think a lot of someone who takes offense at anything you might say. You are kind as well as honest-- but I guess some folks are not up to honesty.

all the gardens around here are drab at the moment late autumn, most are putting spring bulbs in and tiding yards up, have great neighbors both sides which we hardly see

DH has effectively alienated the dog lady but she's still talking to me.

D. H. sounds as mean as I am. You are a lot nicer!

Our flowers and flowering trees survived the latest cold snap into the low 30s, but no freeze, thank goodness, because all our area apple and fruit trees are blooming up a storm. We should have temps in the high 60s/low 70s by now, but spring warmth has been slow in coming. But I welcome all the happily growing greening magic! Thrilled for Bobby's success!

This has been the coldest spring on record in Oklahoma. You must be
thrilled to see the fruit trees bloom. I love the apple blossoms most of
all. I am proud of Bobby for persisting in spite of his health.

When you used to tell my about that pesky neighbor, I thought she was single and had her sights set on Ted. Neighborhood cats are like grandchildren - you can spend some time pampering them, and then they can go back to their parents.

She was visiting the two single guys too but they didn't tolerate it long.
Watch Cat is adorable although fickle.

Yea, 3 cheers for the heat! You're right about taking walks in the AM before it gets too hot. I do the same thing.

Dawn or twilight is the best time for walks or jogging once summer sets in.
The long summer evenings are delightful.

I rose to the occasion. I could have tolerated it but Ted just couldn't
manage. I am soaking up the heat like a lizard. It really feels good.
My plants are finally Growing!!

Yes, I, too, wanta know whatcha did to get Nosy to back off. (I'm looking for tips here.) Your Watch Cat sounds adorable. So happy for Bobby that he got his degree -- what an "upper". Relieved Henry's dog will be okay. I hate people who hurt animals.

I was extremely rude. I told her Ted was too nervous for company and I
didn't want her to visit. I felt terrible but she was here about 4 times
a day. My neighbor, Carolyn has had to do the same thing. It really hurts
me to hurt someone else but it was destroying our peace.

Geez... we had frost and 24 degrees last night and you're talking too hot! Did you mention somewhere else how you offended the nosy neighbor? Seems like it would take a lot of work for you to be offensive!

some people leave you no choice but to be mean and I hate to be in that
situation. I am so happy that summer is here. I can't believe how cold
this spring has been and it seems you and Donna aren't there yet!!
