Musings

My life is going on at the same unexciting pace. I garden
for an hour every other day and am trying to get in the
habit of taking a walk at night. I guess I should switch
to mornings because tiredness always seems to defeat me
at night.

Rex has as many neurosis as ever. I have to lock myself
up in Ted's workroom to iron. The hissing of the iron
sends him into such a state of fear that he clings to
Ted. He has learned that he must eat his dinner before
he gets his Denta Stix but that doesn't stop him from
trying to con me out of his treat before he has eaten his
food. It is hilarious to watch.

Ted sleeps a good bit of the time now. It is after
one p.m. and he hasn't gotten up yet.

I grocery shopped this morning. I love Aldi's but
do not love the way they are always running out of
staple foods. I had to go to a second grocery store
to get cottage cheese.

My cousin from California is here and my sister gave a
family dinner for her with lots of delicious food and
it was wonderful seeing the extended family. I just
realized that I am a great, great aunt. How is this
possible? Time is so sneaky. Close family is such a
blessing.

Rex thinks you are playing with snakes. Or else he simply can't believe you still do ironing.

I iron only in emergencies and it had occurred to me that it reminds
him of snakes. He must have had a miserable puppyhood to have
run away from home.

Have you talked to the vet about putting Rex on meds? He sounds very anxious. Time is pretty sneaky at flying by, I agree!

Rex is anxious about certain things, The iron for one and his refusal
to walk on the black and white tile in the kitchen. Storms terrify
him.

Rex is such a card.

He makes me laugh every single day.

Our Aldi's is good with the basics, but not the occasional one-time shipment. They had jalapeno flavored peanuts a few months ago that haven't returned since. I could live on them!

I have not seen those. We are addicted to those big jars of cashews but
I resisted buying them this time.

How lovely to have family nearby, and you are apparently close knit without the neuroses that plagues so many families. Yeah, time is sneaky.

I love them all. We have fun remembering those that are no longer with
us as well as welcoming the latest addition who is a great, great
nephew about a month old.

They sound so good. I resisted the large jar of cashews this time. The
kids love their caramel ice cream topping and it is not always on offer.
