"May You Live in Interesting Times".

That Chinese curse has certainly come true for all of us in 2020. I never thought I would see a global pandemic or a flim flam man try desperately to cling to power and try to subvert the will of the people. On a personal level, I am trying to cope with extreme pain on my left side. It makes walking painful and my visit with a specialist is due December 22. My dr says I will probably get a steroid shot directly into the hip. I hate old age with a purple passion because it robs one of so much that we take for granted. We have been invited to have Thanksgiving dinner with friends but Ted does not want to go. I am smoking a turkey breast and will take half of it to their house. We don't eat the dark meat and it seems like a waste to buy a whole turkey. I will have the traditional Thanksgiving meal. We are one of the states where covid is surging. Much to my surprise, I was invited to a Christmas party at the governor's mansion. I will decline because it is bound to be a super spreader event. My grand daughter, Ashley was living in the dorm at O.U. She now has covid but I am not worried because she is a strong healthy girl. I am confident that she will be ok. Her main symptom is being unable to taste or smell. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Our blog experience has given me so much. Thank you for the friendship and the bonding.

Surrounding you with armfuls of Thanksgiving Blessings! Best Wishes to Ted and you, dear Jeri! Stay safe in these crazy Covid days. I have a lovely little holiday feast planned for myself.

Today, the Sunday of Thanksgiving Week begins my holidays, which end on Epiphany. A big Zoom visit with all my family cousins and loved ones from across the US is this evening, as will be a treat. For most of my holiday season, I will be home along with my dear darling old kitty, and other than a few masked grocery outings, won't physically be near anyone. Covid is raging here in Ohio, so I will content myself with meeting and connecting via Zoom gatherings, social media, texts, and phone calls. Since late February, when I got Covid, I feel very much like I've been on an extended retreat or sabbatical. Recovery from Covid took a long ten weeks, and I have no wish to get reinfected. So onward I go! I shall continue fill my hours with as much joy and grace as I can muster.

There is so much we do not know about the virus. I would hope that you have a lasting immunity but we may have to get a vaccine every year. I am having a holiday meal just for Ted, Jose and I. I made home made rolls just to see if I had lost that skill but I still have it. I have
errands to do this morning. Jose is going to the vet for a heart worm shot and I want to go to the grocery store early.

We usually went to the Community dinner which won't be held this year. So I bought a turkey only because Donna prefers it to chicken. I'd eat anything or a standing rib so it makes no difference. I prefer the dark meat because it's juicier than the breast so it works out fine. And Donna likes leftover for soup and turkey salad. Have the best time you can. I still use Kratom for my knees and despite negativity from trumps government I haven't head any problems with it and neither does anyone else I now. Have the best time you can!

I guess I am lucky this problem caught up with me in my 91st year...it could have happened twenty years earlier. Have the best holidays ever!!

Because it would mean about 7 separate households getting together, we're not doing a family Thanksgiving. Especially when one of those just went to that Million MAGA thing, and probably maskless. Hope everyone has a nice peaceful holiday. I've been taking daily aspirin and melatonin, after reading the studies of covid patients who were regular users of both.

I am not allowed to have aspirin but will order some melatonin, zinc and vitamin C. I have heard from my daughter that they are helpful. The grocery stores here are limiting supplies of various items that really don't make a lot of sense.

Ugs! I’m sorry about your hip. It sucks that your appointment is a month out as well...
We were supposed to go to Disney with Rons family for thanksgiving, I got us out of that and we were supposed to go visit his family in AL. Just yesterday I told Ron that I wanted to go down on the record saying this was a stupid idea in the middle of a surging pandemic. He finally agreed and we are staying put for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. For Christmas we usually go see my family in WI.
Interesting times indeed! I’m looking forward to January 20.

We are all looking forward to a vaccine. I especially am sorry for the health care workers who are giving all they have and more. You are wise to stay put with just your family on Thanksgiving.

We were invited to a Thanksgiving dinner. We aren't going. We are cooking for us and our forever houseguest, Sol, and that's it. My advice, don't go on your own to the dinner. I am drinking a glass of tart cherry juice every day after breakfast, and it is helping my back. I strongly recommend it. Get it on Amazon, or at your local supermarket. And if you aren't sure, Google its benefits. HopingAshley gets better soon.

I will check into the cherry juice. Also trying the vitamin cocktail that I mentioned above. I won't go to my friends house for Thanksgiving even though there would be only five of us. Ted's objection is that they are simply not very careful and then it would end up impacting us. I am cooking!!
