Life Goes On

After installing an antenna and giving up direct tv, Ted was so unhappy that I had to order it again. I was perfectly satisfied with the antenna because I got all the local stations and about sixty channels. Some of the channels had old shows on them and they were better than the new situation comedies. Now he has Direct Tv and he misses having the old shows.Satisfaction is just not his thing. I have gotten so tired of people in and out of my house. It has been like grand central station around here and I want to be alone, with just Ted and Jose. We do the dog walking thing and it is good for all the neighbors. That terrific ice storm left us and our neighbors with a tremendous amount of broken branches. The city is picking them up but on Veteran's day, a Vet that Ted knows hauled ours off so we no longer have the unsightly pile of tree limbs in our yard. The nicest thing that happened to us was that the seventeen year old twins that mow our yard came by and wanted to take us out to lunch. How sweet is that!!

You have incredibly nice 17-year-olds in your neighborhood. Also, it seems extra-nice that a veteran is doing yet more service to the public on Veterans Day.

I really love my neighborhood. I have a new neighbor next door who is a treasure. Jeremy lives close by and is always available to help if I need him.

An antenna here would do me no good. So we stream Spectrum and other apps on Roku. Actually, I should say Donna does. I wouldn't know how to find a program I wanted to watch if my life depended on it! I watch mostly youtube. Maybe someday I'll get around to watching the third season of Mrs. Masel. If a program doesn't have a set time when it's on, like nightly news, I don't manage to find time to watch it.

I liked the old situation comedies and found them much funnier than the modern ones. However, Ted now has his remote back that does everything and although not a happy camper, he is stuck with it.

My condo association provides broadband cable TV as part of our monthly association dues. It's okay, it's there when I need it, no problems, but I confess I haven't watched TV in months in a boycott of all political advertising. Now I find I prefer the huge amount of streaming programs on my computer through my broadband wifi. I'm looking into Apple TV, but may only get streaming movies from them. Of course, I live alone and only have to satisfy myself. My cat only wants to watch bird videos on YouTube.

Cats are very discriminating viewers. I love the animal programs like Secrets of the Zoo.

I know all about the "nothing makes him happy" syndrome. They do have their good side though. We now have Direct TV. We had Dish. Ed wasn't happy. Now he wants to go back to Dish. I just go with the flow.

Ted did not want dish although they offered a 300 gift card. Now he has what he wants, he doesn't want it. It must be a condition.

You have people in and out of your house?!?!? Please put a stop to that for your own safety. I worry about you. Stay safe

Kristy, I am pretty careful. All the repair people wear masks. I wear mine when I go out and except for grocery shopping, I go no where. During the ice storm we took in a friend whose house was uninhabitable but she works and was tested regularly. We are doing absolutely nothing for Thanksgiving and I expect the holidays to be bleak and lonely. The virus is surging here and I have learned a new word, covid fatigue. Thanks for your concern love you Babe.
