Loss seems to be a part of life and the longer one lives, the more losses beset us. Rex was apparently healthy, except for numerous tumors when all of a sudden he started
limping. At first, we thought he had something in one of his paw but he didn't and so last Monday we took him to the vet. She asked me if I was willing to give him medicine
twice daily and I agreed. The medicine didn't work and I
had begun to think her diagnosis of spinal trouble was wrong. I believe he had a stroke or bone cancer. His
walking got horrible and he moaned when he laid down. It
was very difficult for him to get up.
By Thursday night, we new we couldn't save him and the best
option was to euthanize him. Friday morning it was impossible to get him in the car so we called a mobile vet
and a cremation service. We spoiled him terribly the last two weeks with lots of love and many treats. He passed away in the room he loved best....the kitchen.
The house seems so empty now without his presence. He and little Muffin, a Yorkie were the two best dogs we
have ever had.
