Our local Sears store is closing and I saw the most wonderful machine. It was a very large driving leaf
picker upper and was on half price sale at 489.00. I loved
it because the leaves sit on our lawn until I rake
them up. You drive this thing and it gobbles up leaves!
However, Ted was not interested.
I went with Ted and he is not a good shopper. I had to encourage him to get a pair of Khakis and of all things
leg warmers because his legs are always cold. I ended up
buying leg warmers for my 4 grandaughters too. Adrienne
will be needing them on cold days as she has to walk across the campus and it is very large and then Laura is walking all over NYC. Sara and Ashley need them, Sara for band directing and Ashley for marching. I put them with my store of items that I am giving them for Christmas.
Adrienne learned to make home made pasta in Italy. I haven't had any of it but Ellie says it is delicious. She
became an avid wine drinker too and says her month in Italy was the best thing she has ever done. One big plus was a credit for six hours of art history. Since her
degree will be in Chemical Engineering, I think this
experience will be invaluable.
Life without our beloved Rex goes on. I still look for
him when I wake up. It has not dawned on Jose that he is dog in chief and he hasn't been barking although he has his nose to the carpet smelling where Rex h as been.
I have more tomatoes than I can use and am giving them
away. They are all coming from one plant and I don't
remember the name of it. It has been a wet summer. I am grateful because there is nothing better on sandwiches
than a sun ripened tomato. We eat them sliced in lieu
of a salad most days.
