The Howling Wind

I am sitting and drinking coffee while the wind literally
howls around the house. It was 80 degrees yesterday,(my
favorite temperature) and is 29 this morning. Being part
cat, I hate, hate winter.

I will be getting out early to take Ashley to school. I
checked on Ellie last night and she thinks that she probably
won't be able to go back to work until after Christmas.
Fortunately she has lots of sick leave.

A dear friend lost his youngest son to an auto accident over
the weekend. It grieves us greatly.

On a bright note, Ted walked about two blocks yesterday
with only a cane which he hardly used.

It is supposed to snow today. Laura is supposed to have
a temperature of l5. I hope she gets the snow and we
are spared. Oklahoman's do not know how to drive in snow
and ice.

The wind doesn't blow as hard up here in the mountains, but where I grew up, we could get 100 mile and hour winds and in the 1950s had dust storms where our front yard was 8 inches deep in blowdirt.

I was out a lot yesterday and the wind just blew through me like a knife.
I didn't know you were ever a flat lander.

The weather out there made Nightly News again. Not something to look forward to.

We did not get the snow but the weather people love to threaten us with
it and say it is coming in this week end. It will be cold all this next
week.

That is some temperature change, all right. But they always said that about Oklahoma. If you're part cat, I must be part dog. Can't take the heat. Glad Ted is running around like that, it reminds me of the energy my mother had when she got out of the hospital. She had an oxygen dolly that I was pulling, but she took it away from me and started running around the aisles of the stores. It was great.

Rex is loving the cold weather. If you don't like Oklahoma weather, you
just wait a while but we are feeling the effect of climate change and our
winters are getting colder.

I love the wind. The other day it was whistling down the chimney.

Oh Marg, Ours gusts about 30 to 60 mph and it is miserable.

So happy to hear about Ted! That's great! Very sad about the auto accident though... ya just never know.
I coffee on cold mornings!

One of the reasons that I loved living in Virginia was that there was
little wind and lush vegetation.

that is one crazy temperature swing ... Our worst is in the 30s and if it goes on too long will cause many problems including the death of manatees and dolphins. Glad to hear Ted is improving.

I hope the weather doesn't swing that low in Florida. It is distressing
to think those sweet sea creatures might lose their lives. By the way, a
golden retriever at our zoo is nursing African Wild Dogs along with her
litter of pups. Their biological mother abandoned them.
