Hot Stuff

My ex niece in law was featured on last nights news. After
ten years they made a mutual decision to divorce because
love had flown. Tammy Brummel had been diagnosed at that
time with M.S. She earned her living with
graphic art. Now she is doing fine art on her computer
and it is gorgeous. She scans various things onto her
computer like lace or wallpaper and then draws beautiful
images on them. Last night she was interviewed on a local
tv station. She has had several shows. I am so proud of
her. She has done so well in a very hard field with a
terrible handicap.

I read a wonderfully funny and sad book called Trading Up
by Candace Bushnell. The sad part was the values that
the heroine had. It was just right for a hot day. It was very entertaining but definitely a chick book.

I seem to be tolerating the heat very well when I have to
be outside.

I loved Tammy. She is a sweetheart and expecting her first grandchild soon. They are having a party to reveal the sex of the baby.

I am not a huge fan of the intense heat but... I am glad you are doing well...

I remember the intense humidity. We lived at Fort Belvoir, right on the
Potomac and I thought I would melt into a puddle.

I'm still working on finding Swamplandya!

I hope you find it. It is hard to find a good read. I am reading Careless
In Red, by Elizabeth George. She is one of my favorites.

Weather maps show the temp in your general area as bright crimson--100+. I can't imagine living in that heat, since I like to spend my time outside in the summer. But what is one to do.....:

One gets out early in the morning for errands and yard work and then we
stay in under the air conditioner. The temperature peaks about five p. m.
I think this is odd because we used to be told that between ten and two
the heat was the most intense.

Iced tea with sugar syrup and garden mint.

Iced tea is a live saver. I have no mint and I want some and I don't care
if it is invasive.

Keep cool and the temper.

I am good tempered by nature.

Of course, I had to Google the artist to see her work. Take care of yourself in the heat!

It is astonishing what she can do with the computer. I hope she can stay
well enough to work.

Please be careful in this heat. If you need anything, let me know. I'm a stone's throw away and I don't mind hard work.

You bet we'll bring her by. Glad you got a lawn guy. Isn't this Day 20 of 100 degree temps?
reply by jerms on July 9, 2011 9:57 AM ()
We are coping well. I fired the lawn service and got an older man to
do it at one third the price. He is a disabled Vet, drives a city bus
at night and being older does a lot better job than the fifteen year olds
did. You and Jenny had better bring that little girl by to see me when
she is old enough to go out. Thanks for the offer and I will take advantage of it, if I need to.
