Hints of Spring

The sun is shining and that makes everything l00 percent
better. All those gray days are only made bearable by
a roaring fire in the fireplace. I may even garner the
ambition to rake leaves today.

I went to the commissary today and bought 3 bottles of
Harbour Mist moscato in the strawberry/mango flavor.
Sure it tastes like soda pop but l love it unashamedly.

Last night we went to the highschool and watched the
beauty pageant that Adrienne was in. She didn't win but
She had already gotten second runner up to the homecoming
queen. I was shocked to see how overweight a lot of the
girls were and how skimpy their formals were.

I am coping pretty well I think. Grief comes in waves and
sometimes I feel devastated by it. Other times, I am
distracted by the ordinarey every day tasks. Bobby's
birthday is going to be hard. It is the 8th of Feb. My
sister is going to take Ted and I out to lunch on that day to distract us,

Yes overweight and wearing skimpy stuff to highlight your folds of fat seems to be the new "in". Glad Adrienne is not in that group. Keep on with your interests, because involving yourself is the best way to ease the pain.

The thought of spring brings forsythia with its bright yellow flowers to mind. Do they have that there? There was always a lot of it around the south side of Denver when I lived there, but it seems like years since I've seen it.

Yes, we have forsythia here and crepe myrtle and rose of sharon. I love
these old fasahioned flowering shrubs.

The days are getting longer and the sun brighter! We've been getting rain instead of snow and the high today was 45 which really isn't winter temp for around here. It will be spring in no time. I expect to see seeds in Walmart next week and I've learned form experience to buy early since they don't always replace what sells out. Enjoy the soda pop!

I am glad that you have escaped snowzilla. Think of all the wood you
are going to have left over for next year.

After your lunch you should go shopping too. Somehow it helps coming home with some item or other -- another distraction. And it's fun. Speaking of the girls and their formals, the high school girls here seem to spend a fortune on their dresses. And they're very princessy.

It is always fun to shop even though the plummet in the price of oil
has forced me and a lot of other Oklahomans to pinch our pennies.
As usual the Republicans are in power here and they are cutting schools
to a four day week to save money. Egregious!

We are def in the grip of winter here... So much snow!!!! We got about 3 feet. I'm glad you will have a distraction on the 8th. I will keep you in my thoughts lady and send virtual hugs always!

I appreciate the thoughts and hugs. Sorry you have so much snow and the
aftermath of mud but spring in Virginia is glorious and you have that
to look forward to. Hugs to all.
