What's Happening Now

Everything! This week our chimney sweep is doing the
fireplace. I am afraid to use it because the squirrels
have been having a bowling tournament on the roof all
summer and may have stuffed pecans in it.

The storm cellar is set to be installed under the driveway.
This is to be done Saturday and conflicts with a Christmas
party for me. I will have to stay home because I don't
think Ted is up to supervising the installation.

I had to have the car serviced yesterday morning and of
course it took thee and a half hours because I had to
drive to Edmond and then wait endlessly for them to finish.
They over scheduled as usual.

Furnace repair people are coming today. It is their third
attempt to get it right. We have two furnaces so have not
suffered in the cold weather aside from a chilly master
bedroom. Ted has to have the fan on in all weather so I
don't linger in there during the day.

Ellie went back to work yesterday but still can't see
out of one eye. She is afraid to drive but has managed to
share a ride with another teacher.

This is just a case of Holiday madness and I suppose
everyone is experiencing it. My shopping is done and my
packages are wrapped. The ones I mail are ready to go
this week. I stayed firmly at home during cyber days,
although I was tempted to go and get another crock pot
with a locking lid for l9.95. I have three and their are
times when they are all in use.

The leaves are totally out of hand and the twins have
deserted me. They find raking leaves too hard and the
weather too crisp for comfort. I agree with them but
don't relish doing it myself.

I'm getting a multi purpose crock pot for Christmas - can't wait!!!! I have one now but it doesn't have a warm function, the new one will.... Sad day when I'm excited about a crock pot. Ha

That storm cellar project sounds like a big one - I'd looked at them online back when you first started talking about it a couple years ago, thought you were getting one of those 2 person ones. I am claustrophobic, so there is not much chance I'd be hanging out in there, big or little. But never say never, I suppose.

I decided to have one that you can st and up in and have some seating. It
is going to be large enough for comfort but I am claustrophobic also. I
couldn't take one of those coffin like ones with no head room.

It sounds like you're getting all sorts of needed things DONE! Especially getting the furnace fixed, and the car repaired. Fewer big things to worry about for when the real cold hits.

Yes. I hate staying home while they dig the storm shelter but I can't
put them off because they are really busy and I don't want to go to the
bottom of the list. It is big enough for my family and our friends and I
am excited about that. It has a capacity of l6.

It seems everything you are having done is having glitches. Sorry you have to miss your party. Tell the twins they don't have the luxury of foisting work off on Grandma because she has way more on her plate than they do. (Tough love.) I always take a book along whenever I have any service appointment. It saves my sanity.

Yes, my new mantra is JUST DO IT! I am not putting things off this holiday
season. I am going to a pot luck dinner tonight and I mailed packages
today.
