Our big family reunion is over and it was a total revelation
seeing nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and the
two great greats, Penelope and Briden. Penelope is a three
year old, a precocious little one who says very cute and
witty things. Briden is six and more reserved.
Linda was unable to come so we missed her and those grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of us have
aged even more, some of us have gained weight and some of
us were dressed inappropriately but we all had fun and ate
too much at our groaning table. The stuffing my sister
prepared was absolutely perfect and so was my smoked turkey breast.
.
We shared memories just as families always do and Bobby
remembered my Aunt Nola who mothered us all. She will
always be the favorite Aunt and Great Aunt. Joan remembered
our Grandmother, Mama Sis,(that was my cousin's attempt to
say Mama Henderson and it stuck.) She tried hard to be a
Southern Lady in very difficult circumstances. We loved
spending the night with her.
Ted and I went straight to bed when we got home. He wanted to sleep and I read until bedtime. It was strenuous getting all that cooking done and transported.
I have the Christmas dinner party on the l3th to prepare
for and Christmas for the kids sometime around the date.
My shopping is done.
