Ghosts, Ghouls and the Little Flower

Rex, Ted and I enjoyed Halloween thoroughly last night. The
costumes were a delight. Rex stole at least four Tootsie
Pops and greeted all the children who came to the door.

One of the best costumes was a beautiful Latino mother who
wore a red devils outfit complete with horns. The Latino
children had the best costumes for some reason. The girl
who came as a flower was about six, beautifully made up and
in a dress made to look like flower petals. Her hair was teased straight up and she was adorable.

I treated the grandchildren after school, lavishly I might
add, because they got Russel Stover candy. The strangers
got the Tootsie Pops. I turned out the lights at eight
thirty, much to Rex's disappointment. I think he probably
had more fun than anyone, greeting and wagging his tail and
filching candy.

One year when we lived on the south side of Denver, Mr. YouKnow handed out the candy, and he had so much fun. His favorites were the parents with good costumes.

Sounds like a great time. I was prepared, but had no visitors, maybe not enough lights on. I've decided that next year, I'll have a different place, a dog to greet them, and maybe a costume even.

It is fun to dress up and dogs make wonderful greeters when they aren't
stealing candy. The toddlers are so much fun...all awe and wonder and a
tiny bit scared.

We don't get any visitors. The fire departments and other business are too much competition. Can't blame the kids. Ya get so much more walking through town than up the highway.

We never got visitors when we lived on the farm...not heavily populated and
not worth their time. They make out like little bandits here.

What a fine time you had ... our Halloween was a bust ... I visited across the street, didn't dress up as I thought I would. Kids came to that house, but not to mine because our lights were out. In any case, we didn't have anything to hand out. Just too distracted to pay much attention. I didn't dress because I was alone with it ... not much fun in that.

I was visualizing you in your white witch outfit. I didn't dress up either
because I couldn't find my hat, but it was fun and Rex had a walloping good
time.
