Feeling the Effects

Even in an air conditioned house this unmitigated heat takes
it's toll. It makes me extremely sleepy in the afternoon
and I find myself having little naps. Ted is feeling the
sleepiness too and naps in front of the tv. As for Rex, he
goes out for a few minutes three or four times a day.

This does not make for an exciting life. There are plenty
of projects to tackle and that is getting me through. I
water daily and my faithful knock out roses and crepe myrtle
are blooming in the back yard. The veggies are all wilted
but I am trying to keep them alive until when it is cooler.

Adrienne came over yesterday for a visit. We enjoyed her
a lot. I need to have a talk with her soon about braces.
She needs them and I am hoping we can talk her into invisaline. She doesn't want to be in high school with
braces on her teeth. She sometimes listens to me when she
won't listen to her parents.

I am looking forward to going to Tulsa to see Linda and
Sara. I think Blake and Laura will be working. I have
gobs of stuff to take Sara. Sara is beginning to show now.
I will be a great grandmother in November.

I have struggled with sleepiness in the afternoon for most of my adult life. Think who and what I might have been/done if it weren't for that.

Lawton is about l50 miles from us and there is turnpike all the way. There
is a wild life refuge there that is interesting.

I've been watching your weather, just unremittingly hot there, and the humidity is up. Take it easy, and make sure your car is in good shape before you drive to Tulsa.

We have dry heat and it is easier to get through than with a lot of
humidity. I have triple a and the kind of extended warranty that makes
a breakdown easier to tolerate. Knock on wood, my car has never ever
had a problem.

Your heat is coming our way, but only for two days. We finally got some rain today, but it didn't last near long enough. Hopefully a bit more tonight that will soak in. I hadn't put an a/c in the window all season, but the forecast managed to scare me just a bit. I didn't want to be wrestling with the unit in 80 degrees, so I put it in the bedroom window this evening.

My dear John, eighty degrees would be heaven. I can be out all day
in eighty degree heat.
