It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

This is a cliche but how else do you say it? It thundered and the lightening lit up the night sky, while I groped around with a flashlight trying to make drip coffee without a dripolater. Do you remember dripolaters? June has hung on to a battered old aluminum one from the 50's and it does come in handy when you have a power outage.

I kept turning on lights, out of habit with no results. We have cancelled all of our plans for the day because we have been warned that more storms with hail are on the way. I put Bouncer and Rex in. All three of the dogs are frightened of storms. Sassy is just a little girl dog and she prefers to stay in the house all of the time. Rex can't stand to miss anything that might be going on out of doors but I guess he will just have to suffer. He is in until it stops and the sun peeks out of the clouds.

Texastar is probably having the same kind of weather we are.
These violent storms will probably continue until the middle of June.

That's the news from tornado alley.

I just caught up on all of your posts. Boy, do I miss this place and these posts! We are still waiting for the rains ro begin, but they likely will not start until June. (We get summer rains.) While it is an unusually dry spring, at least the winter was not as dry as in previous years. Still, I wish the rains would start. It is overcast today... maybe?

Good Lord! You have a long rainy season! We need the rain, and you're getting too much! Our lights hardly ever go out because we have underground electrical wires. They do go out for very short periods - not very often - I don't know why, but they come on pretty quickly. Hope you get better weather soon!!!

hate to say it out loud--we have been having perfect 'tourist' weather--warm and sunny during the day and cool with starry skies at night--don't hate us!!

My dogs bark at anything or everything. They try to bite passers-by. The Police avoid my block entirely. They are afraid.
There are no tornadoes in the Holy Land, but my dogs run from fireworks. I guess everyone has a chink in the body armor.
