Conservative America

Oklahoma, like Texas, is the heart of conservative Christian
thought. People mimic what they learn from our conservative
newspaper without a single thought that the news is distorted.

When did people lose the power of critical thinking? It
reminds me of the woman on medicare who said she didn't want
the Affordable Health Care act because she didn't want the
government messing in her health care. Evidently she failed
to realize that Medicare is a government program.

The worship of wealth and celebrity seem to be pervasive, no
matter how obnoxious the behavior. It seems clear to me
that if you are poverty stricken, then you would want to
vote for the party that would limit your taxes and impose
a harsher tax on the wealthy. An insurance program that
allows you to be insured even if you have a pre-existing
condition would be desirable. Social programs are dismissed
as frivolous by those that need them most.

They watch Fox news and Rush Limbaugh and swallow it whole.
I am so disgusted with the political climate in Oklahoma.

Here in Florida too! We have a Tea Party governor!

Colorado is an Obama state, but in the northeast counties reside the conservative farmers who wanted to secede from the state and create a new one.

I admire Colorado's more liberal stance. I envy the medical marijuana
law so much. We have a petition going now trying to bring it to a vote.
It is a shame that cancer patients are not able to obtain it.

I am not surprised one bit. By the way, how is Rinny?

some neighbors of mine have coalesced into a
"don't talk to her, she's liberal" group after reading (or having read to them) my pieces that have been appearing in the News-Press. How lucky can you get? They don't have a clue that I am delighted.

I am proud of you for standing up for your beliefs. Florida must be almost
as bad as Oklahoma. We need an informed and aggressive group of voters who
will vote their conscience and stand up for their liberal views.

It's a sad state of political affairs these days. People are apathetic - and sometimes that's better than uninformed "truth" spouters further confusing the masses.
Celebrity crapola is annoying as well, but the media gives us what we seek, yay America

The apathetic need to rally round and look out for their interests and the
interest of others. I know that I am preaching to the choir but we have got
to get it right.

Almost the same around here. People here think that the Tea Party is actually a patriotic American organization. Imagine that!

Why am I not surprised. We have a man running for Senate who had been
elected to the house whose only platform is Obama hatred (tea party) and
whose former job was a Youth Minister for some church. gag!!
