Blowing Snow, a Cold Weather Tip, and Books

The wind howling around the house woke me up and I just had
to see how much snow we got overnight. It was not as much
as was predicted but it is drifting. Everything is cancelled and a state of emergency has been declared. I am
so glad that no one will be out today. I hope the shelters
have enough room for the homeless and enough food to sustain
them. The homeless were out begging yesterday at the mall
and we gave to the most elderly and pitiful looking one. You never know what the need is but even if it is for alcohol at least that brings temporary comfort.

Rex will have a ball when he gets up. He loves cold weather
and snow especially. I gave him his monthly dose of heart
worm medicine and his frontline last night.

I have a cold weather tip from an old plumber. He says to
wrap your freeze proof faucets in bubble wrap. Ellie put it
on the back of her washing machine and it no longer freezes
up. Her washer is in the garage.

Enough about the weather!

Ted has taken over net flix and most of his movies are action and adventure which I detest but he has made it up
by always taping The Tudors and the British comedies that I
can watch over and over. I love BBC.

I made it to the library but hardly any of the books are
really good. I started The Passion last night but it is
about a human-werewolf hybrid and I can't get into it.

Stay warm.

I was looking at your local news - was that fire at the mall near you?

Our temperatures down here have been moderate but it has been dreadfully humid- very 'unwinterly like' for Florida. Winters are usually dry. The fog delayed a cruise ship returning to port and every news station picked it up. Guess they are desperate for something that is not about kids or cops being murdered.

I love the BBC too, and from early teens was always more taken with movies from England than anything made here. As for Ted and, obviously "separated at birth" ...

British humor always seems funnier to me. I think the actors and stories
are better too.

Stay warm yourself! I hope Rex has a ball and you enjoy your day indoors...

Rex can't take the snow drifts on his bottom when he has to relieve himself
so he has not gone out until he is desperate. It is so cold here. l below zero outside. We are warm and cozy.

So sorry that this was the final season.
All of the actors did a fine job.

It is really an excellent program. I worry about you and Mike because I
know it is even worse there.

I am going to pass on the tip about using 'bubble wrap' on the taps (faucets) - that is a great tip & I have loads of that in an upstairs cupboard! - Thanx Jeri.
The BBC do make the best comedy series, have you ever seen 'Only fools and horses'? That was running for a very long time and now they put the 'repeats' on. It may be a few years old, but the comedy, does not wither with time - exceptional writing and performances!
